I opened up to write a story that
Was worth telling
But every book I hadn’t read, confronted me and said:

Try and bring a crowd next time you’re here
Maybe then we’ll listen”
Only when I’m asleep do I really understand
All the things I think I am saying are grandstanding
Articles of false faith, I construct words by managing haste

Imagine me in print, imagine me in history
Every book I’ve binned, every place I’m in tells me to sleep
Isn’t it the same, to breeze through cityscapes, unknowing?

Statues tell a story without their names showing, isn’t it the same to breeze through cityscapes unknowing?
